The Packer Collegiate Institute: A Story of Education in Brooklyn
About the Project
In 2014, Packer Collegiate Institute donated over 250 cubic feet of archival records to Brooklyn Historical Society (BHS).
With a generous grant provided by the Leon Levy Foundation, BHS arranged, described, and preserved these records, which document both the history of the school and the evolution of education in the United States. BHS is now able to provide access to these historic records to scholars, students, and others in BHS’s Othmer Library. Additionally, a selection of the collection’s documents and photographs are now available digitally, allowing viewers across the world access to the records.
